Book outlines 50 PC plans for autos

GAVIN HARPER, who we met last year has written a book called 50 Awesome Auto Projects which has now been published by McGraw Hill. Projects include building wi-fi, GPRS, 3G, Bluetooth and other systems into your car so you can go "wardriving"; speech recognition; installing hard drives in your car; installing touchscreens; and a full discussion of Car PC software. The book even suggests ideas to link a PC to your motorbike, using mini and nano ITX and motherboards, the type of memory you will need, and a whole heap of other projects too. Each project contains a list of components you'll need and the kind of work you need to undertake to get your systems working. The book costs $24.95 US, or £24.99 in the UK. The ISBN number is 0-07-145823-9
